I just went into hard mode, I only have like 32 defense and a night's edge, and the pirates invaded almost immediately. The captain is also right at spawn, as well as a horde of all the others, making it impossible to get to my house and survive for more than a second.

Is there something I can do to at least survive a little longer? This happened to me as well and sadly there isn't any easy way out of it. Moving your spawn will help stop you from having to fight pirates as soon as you spawn in but that won't stop the pirate invasion.

It's a long process but even with only the Night's Edge you can kill a few pirates at a time. After you kill enough and the invasion ends you just need to kill the last few left. One thing to remember is not all of the pirates can open doors, so if you ever need a minute to heal you can always run into your house for a little while.

If you cannot escape, you can consider clicking the bed to unset your spawn point.

This will spawn you at the world spawn on your next death, giving you some time. This will work until the pirates find you there too. Other than that, try to survive as best as you can and start preparing for the next time they invade. I have had that exact same thing happen to me. What I did was took my ballista rod from defeating the old ones army and placed it again over and over. To beat that flying boat thing I trapped it by walking into a building I made, stood at the other end shot it a lot with guns and bows.

You shoot at the cannons but do that last because if you beat it another one comes. A Rod of Discord would help get in and out of your spawn place, but it is extremely rare. It's just my preference. The Rod of Discord is a Hardmode tool that instantly teleports the player to the mouse cursor. Using the Rod costs no mana or ammunition, however each use inflicts the Chaos State debuff on the player, which causes the player to lose health if they use the Rod in rapid succession.

You get a ballista rod by buying it from the tavernkeep. It has four cannons that drop cannonballs, and it will occasionally spawn standard Pirate Invasion enemies.

The Flying Dutchman does not disappear after the Pirate Invasion is over though it will explode if it has not been engaged before the invasion endsand defeating the Flying Dutchman will not end the invasion. The Flying Dutchman can only be defeated by destroying all four cannons.

Several Flying Dutchmen can appear during a single Pirate Invasion, or none at all. Sign In. From Terraria Wiki. Jump to: navigationsearch. Pirate Invasion. Coin Gun. Lucky Coin. Discount Card. Do I need to be near my town to fight the pirates? The wiki claims I can fight pirates at the ocean biome to farm more maps. Showing 1 - 4 of 4 comments. Generic View Profile View Posts. They're probably just at your town. The progress bar for the invasion disappears. It's not a matter of where the enemies are; It's a matter of "What happened to the invasion?

I've had the progress bar disappear during the Martian Madness event. Once I got near some more enemies, who were at my town, the progress bar reappeared. If it disappears, you're probably just too far from the enemies. In my experience, when invaders are moving in and you stand in their path, they'll only attack you briefly because you're not their target.

You then have to move to the center to continue the event. If there's a way to change the invaders' target, I have no idea what it is. Whoever wrote that you can fight pirates at the ocean should have mentioned how. Perhaps the pirates' target is not necessarily the center of the map, but your spawn point? If so, you could make a home over the oceanThe Pirate Staff is a Hardmode summon weapon that spawns a pirate minion that attacks enemies via a melee sword attack.

Like other minions, the summoned pirate is invincible and follows the player for an unlimited amount of time, unless the player dies, summons a replacement minion, or cancels the buff. Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits.

The only lasting advantage a Mythical Pirate Staff has over a Ruthless one is knockback. Sign In. From Terraria Wiki. Jump to: navigationsearch. Summons Minion. Desktop version.

Due to the number of mobs spawned by the event, it is possible that you get several maps every invasion. But the pirates went to my home in middle of the world and ignored my new spawn point.

Does a bed do not work? Need I to build an ocean biome near the middle? Showing 1 - 14 of 14 comments. Faesur View Profile View Posts. It might mean that if you make an artificial ocean near the world spawn rather than move your spawn to the ocean, although I have had pirates spawn in the ocean when my spawn has been at the centre of the map. I don't think so I'm pretty sure you have to fight it There will be a bunch of people saying they will join and help you It ruins the fun of the game.

I have a similar issue, although for very different reasons. I just don't want to deal with that nonsense. In previous versions, it was possible to just log off the world, then log back in, and the world would forget there was ever an invasion.

Any clever tricks to manipulate these? Tymon View Profile View Posts. This is a 4 month old thread But, sadly no there's no way to really manipulate invasion events. You have to clear them in order to end them outside of actual map editing stuff or t-shock server commands.
